A new movie that revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who is now living in an obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities which was ruled by the church.

 When his niece Lucy (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them.  With him his niece’s boyfriend Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses other worldly fight skills. The Movie is directed by Scott Stewart, and based to a Korean comic of the same name.  The film first entered development in 2005, when Screen Gemsbought the spec script by Cory Goodman. In 2006 Andrew Douglas was attached to direct and Gerard Butler was attached to star. They were eventually replaced by Stewart and Bettany in 2009 and filming started in Los Angeles, California, later in the year. The film changed release dates numerous times throughout 2010 and 2011. An interview in Priest: Volume 3 the author Hyung Min-woo states that the comic was inspired by the computer game Blood, which featured a similar horror-Western aesthetic and undead protagonist.
